Speakers announced for the 2018 SIA Annual General Meeting
The SIA is delighted to announce an exciting list of speakers for the 2018 SIA Annual General Meeting, which will take place at Mottram Hall, Cheshire on Thursday 11th October.
SIA Chairman Mark Brunt will open proceedings with the formal AGM, followed by an update from SIA Technical Committee Chair Dr. Rob Oades on the project work of the Association.
With the UK exit from the EU looming ever closer, industry-related guest speakers will offer a European and Global perspective on the impact of Brexit.
The welcome return of Marco Mensink, Director General of the European Chemical Council (Cefic) to the AGM will provide a fascinating EU perspective on the effects of Brexit on the European chemical industry.
Back by popular demand, Paul Hodges, CEO of International eChem will address delegates on what Brexit means for UK business. Paul is also Chairman of the recently launched ‘ReadyforBrexit’ website, an online platform to assist SMEs with the uncertainties of a Post-Brexit Europe.
Addressing the Association for the first time, Dr. Paul Hunton, Principal technical consultant and Managing Director at Hunton Woods Limited will discuss the growing threat of Cybercrime and the steps companies need to take to ensure data systems are protected.
As the principal partner of the SIA in SH&E activities, Cornelia Tietz, Director General of the European Solvents Industry Group will offer an update on the activities of ESIG over the previous 12 months and forthcoming projects.
The SIA Annual General Meeting is open to SIA members, guests and non-members with an interest in the supply aspect of the industry and the work of the SIA. All are welcome to attend.
