The members of the Solvents Industry Association raised a record amount for charity at their Spring Dinner, held at the Army Museum in London on the evening of the 12th March. A total of £3,200 was raised on the night, from cash donations in a raffle and further pledges from member companies COUNT Distribution, Elaflex and Hoyer UK. This included bids for SIA Chief Executive, Bill Atkinson, to spend a day on site at Hoyer and COUNT, to deliver training or audits. Elaflex also donated a prize of lunch for 2 at a Gordon Ramsey restaurant, for the raffle.

2Wish was chosen as the SIA charity by SIA Chair Mark Cottrell, who explained that sadly one of his colleagues lost her teenage son very suddenly and in circumstances that made the loss even more difficult. 2Wish continue to be an invaluable support to her in her time of need.
Zoe Wakefield, the Immediate Support Coordinator for 2Wish, who was able to attend the dinner and speak about the work of the charity, wished to pass on her thanks to the SIA members.
“Thank you so much to everyone at the SIA for your generosity at the recent dinner. 2wish supports anyone affected by the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young person up to 25. £3200 is a fantastic amount of money and this will enable us to continue supporting families at the worst moment of their lives, being there for them when their grief is overwhelming and staying with them during the incredibly difficult weeks and months ahead. We are incredibly grateful for your support”.
