We are pleased to announce that registration is now open for the 2026 SIA Annual General Meeting, Conference and Dinner. Important information on the event can be found below, along with a link for registration.The event takes place on Thursday 15th October 2026 at Delta Hotels Worsley Park Country Club near Manchester.
We are currently finalising the agenda for the afternoon but we aim to present you with the usual enjoyable and entertaining event, with the emphasis on safety, sustainability and the future. We also plan for the afternoon session to be interactive with the chance to have your say…
This is THE main event for SIA Members and invited guests and is NOT to be missed. We are pleased to welcome many new members to the SIA during the past year, so this is a great opportunity for everyone to get to know each other! (Now I just need to remember everyone’s name…).
On Thursday morning the SIA Technical Committee will meet to discuss ongoing projects. Lunch will then commence from 12:15pm, followed by an afternoon session consisting of the formal Annual General Meeting, invited speakers and a panel discussion on the future of the solvents industry.
The afternoon will be rounded off with a talk from our special guest Lloyd Peck of the British Antarctic Survey. If you have ever wondered how you could possibly play football underneath the ice, well you can find out! Or if football leaves you cold (especially after all the World Cup talk), we are sure there will be other temperature related anecdotes to better suit you!
In the evening, there is a drinks reception followed by a three-course dinner and entertainment. The Gerald Soane award will also be bestowed to the latest worthy recipient.
On the day before the conference, the SIA Annual Golf Day also takes place at Worsley, consisting of an 18-hole Stableford competition for the prestigious Roger Haskey Memorial Trophy. Players of all abilities are welcome to attend. This includes invited industry guests.
For the non-golf players among you, this year we have arranged an alternative! You can spend an afternoon at an outdoor activities venue on the outskirts of Manchester (we will look to coordinate vehicles from Worsley Park). Arrival is at 12 noon for lunch following by 3 hours of activities including the following:
In the evening, we have arranged to have a barbecue on the terrace at the hotel – don’t worry there is indoor space in case of inclement weather! There is a cost of £40 + VAT per person for this for members and £55 + VAT for non-members.

The cost of attending the AGM and dinner is £125 + VAT per person for members and £145 + VAT for non-members.
AGM and Conference attendance only, is charged at £65 + VAT per person for members and £80 + VAT for non-members.
The cost of the accommodation is once again £150 + VAT per night (if two delegates are sharing a room then please let us know).
The barbecue is £40 + VAT per person for members and £55 + VAT for non-members.
Invoices can be paid for using all major credit cards, although BACS payment is still preferred.
SIA members, guests and non-members, with an interest in the supply aspect of the industry are all welcome to attend all of the events. If there are any questions regarding suitability of guests, please refer these questions to Bill Atkinson.
Some of our new members are yet meet with us and we would like to encourage as many people as possible to attend, for what promises to be an informative and equally enjoyable experience, particularly for those who haven’t attended our events previously, or are new to the industry.
