SIA Lunch and Learn Session – Safe Tanker Access

Wednesday 12th June 2024, Starting at 12:00 noon GMT

Presented by Alec Keeler – Managing Director, Carbis Loadtec (SIA Associate Member)

Description

Join us for our latest Free SIA Lunch & Learn Webinar, which is relevant to anyone who has tanker transfers taking place on their site. Its purpose is to ask the question, “How safe is safe?” It seeks to put buyers, engineers and office-based decision makers, into the (safety) shoes of the operators conducting the dangerous tasks at height. To help them better appreciate the dangers that are being faced on an hourly basis. The presentation reviews some of the options to improve working at height scenarios.

About the Speaker

Alec Keeler has been working in the Loading Arm and Fall Prevention industry globally for 43 years. He has operated on all but one continent and, at 65, hasn’t given up on Antarctica yet!

In 1996 he set up Loadtec Engineered Systems, to bring together the disparate elements of tanker loading and unloading issues (loading arms, fall prevention and metering) to offer focused packaged systems to an industry that was increasingly looking for solutions rather than products. In 2019 Loadtec sold a major share of their company to Carbis Solutions Group, their primary supplier of innovative fall prevention systems. This allowed them to work from within the company to innovate solutions for European and ROW clients in addition to their traditional USA style solutions.
