The Solvents Industry Association (SIA) is pleased to announce Hutchinson Transport Ltd as its newest Associate Member.
Founded in 2000 by Bruce Hutchinson, Hutchinson Transport is a family-owned specialist tanker operator based in Middlesbrough and operating throughout the UK. The business is now led by Rhys and Nathan Hutchinson, following a management buyout completed in April 2026.

Hutchinson provides specialist chemical and bulk liquid transport services, supported by in-house workshop capability through Hutchinson Technical Services. The company works with customers where product knowledge, suitable equipment, driver standards, site requirements and careful planning are central to safe and reliable transport.
Rhys Hutchinson said:
“We are pleased to join the Solvents Industry Association as Hutchinson continues to grow its work in solvent and specialist bulk liquid transport.
“For Nathan and me, SIA membership reflects the direction we are taking the business. We want Hutchinson to be close to the sectors we serve, the standards that shape them and the people working across the solvents supply chain.
“It also gives us the opportunity to contribute a practical transport operator’s view, from the road, the yard and the customer site.”
Bill Atkinson, Chief Executive of the SIA, added:
“I’d like to welcome Hutchinson Transport to the SIA family. The transport of dangerous goods carries such a high responsibility and I admire and applaud Hutchinson’s dedication to safety. They will fit in well to our growing membership, and I look forward to working with them on a number of projects currently going through the SIA’s Technical Committee.”
