Hydrocarbon Solvents – Aromatic Hydrocarbons

Aromatic hydrocarbons have the most solvency power of all solvents, with a chemical structure based upon the aromatic 6-membered benzene ring.
Toluene and xylene are the most commonly used aromatics and are used in the manufacture of high performance surface coatings, rubbers, laquers and as building blocks for pharmaceutical compounds.
High purity xylenes are also used as a cleaning product in the production of electronic components.
